[ElasticHQ](https://www.elastichq.org/) has monitoring and managing capabilities for the Elasticsearch in a very nice UI, designed to do just that. I think you can still use Kibana to view Elasticsearch metrics, but that will require some work to set up the queries and charts that ElasticHQ already has.
